1 Killed, 1 Wounded In Bungled Robbery Of Shop

Authorities say a clerk at an Albuquerque smoke shop fatally shot one man and injured another during a bungled robbery.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that 29-year-old Ramon Salomon Sedillo died and 17-year-old Daryl Martinez was injured during Friday's robbery attempt.

Police say the clerk shot the men after Sedillo pointed a gun at him.

Martinez wasn't believed to have been armed at the time of the robbery.

Police say Martinez fled the smoke shop in a vehicle after being shot, went to a nearby urgent care center and was later transferred to a hospital.

Martinez is expected to be charged with armed robbery, conspiracy and violating his probation.

Albuquerque police say prosecutors will determine whether the clerk should be charged.

Sedillo was recently released from prison.
