Up To 12 Inches Of Rain Falls In Austin, More To Come

Parts of Central Texas already soaked by weekend storms and road flooding could get more rain.

The National Weather Service says the heavy rain and flood threat continues for the Austin and San Antonio areas into Wednesday.

About a dozen vehicles were involved in a pileup early Monday in Irving as rain moved through North Texas. Several slightly injured travelers were treated at the scene.

Flash floods swept through parts of the Austin area on Sunday after up to a foot of rain fell in a 12-hour period. The Austin Parks and Recreation Department closed city parks and trails amid unsafe conditions.

Texas troopers say nobody was hurt Saturday afternoon when a private bus carrying wedding party members overturned while crossing a flooded road near Dripping Springs.
