Las Cruces – Las Cruces police say a 13-year-old boy has been arrested on sexual assault charges that date back to 2007.
The boy, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was arrested Thursday and charged with four first-degree felony counts of criminal sexual penetration and one count of aggravated assault.
Detectives say they learned that the boy allegedly sexually assaulted a step-relative in the summer of 2007 when the girl was 6. He is also accused of sexually assaulting another step-relative, a boy who is now 11, on three occasions since the summer of 2008.
Police say the two victims did not report the incidents earlier because of threats made by the boy.
The boy is being held in the juvenile section of the Dona Ana County jail.
