KRWG News – SILVER CITY, N.M. (KRWG) Firefighters are working to protect homes in a Silver City neighborhood from wildfire that has already engulfed two of the homes.
Silver City Police say the blaze started around 9 p.m. Thursday and is about 10 to 15 acres in size.
Officials say residents along four streets in the neighborhood are evacuating, but there was no word on how many.
Police say the area is grassy and homes are some distance apart.
KRQE reports volunteers from the Whisky Creek and Tierra Alta Fire Departments are helping Silver City firefighters to protect area homes.
