But that's where the similarities end.
Former Bernalillo County Commissioner Michelle Lujan Grisham and former state lawmaker Janice Arnold-Jones are running on opposing visions for health care, job creation and the role of the federal government.
Republican Arnold-Jones believes streamlining the tax code and decreasing government regulations will help spark growth in New Mexico, one of the poorest states in the country.
Democratic nominee Lujan Grisham has stressed "public-private partnerships" in helping spur a sluggish economy.
The two candidates are running for a seat being vacated by Democratic Rep. Martin Heinrich, who is running for Senate.
The district is often viewed as the state's swing district.
