92 Citations Issued In Highway 70 Traffic Operation

Officers from Las Cruces Police, New Mexico State Police and the New Mexico Motor Transportation Department combined to issue 92 citations in less than three hours Tuesday morning during a special traffic operation along U.S. Highway 70.
Of the 92 citations, 52 went to drivers who were exceeding the posted speed limit. Another 17 citations were issued to drivers who could not show proof of valid insurance.
The remaining citations were issued for various traffic infractions.
Tuesday morning’s traffic operation was held from approximately 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. along the westbound lanes of Highway 70. The Las Cruces Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, plan additional traffic enforcement operations in the near future.
