Accountant Named To NM Gambling Agency

By KRWG News

New Mexico – SANTA FE, N.M. (KRWG) Gov. Susana Martinez has named an Albuquerque business executive to the state agency that regulates gambling in New Mexico.

The governor's appointee to the Gaming Control Board is Steven Miller, director of finance for TriCore Reference Laboratories. Miller is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of New Mexico.

The board regulates gambling at horse racing tracks, veterans and fraternal clubs and monitors gambling at tribal casinos.

The Republican governor also announced this week that she's appointed Larry Kennedy of Albuquerque to the State Fair Commission. Kennedy is vice president of an engineering firm in Albuquerque.

Former Carlsbad mayor Gary Perkowski was reappointed by the governor to the State Parks Advisory Board.
