ACI, NMIBE To Host New Mexico Trade Mission to Israel

Albuquerque, NM — Today, New Mexico Association of Commerce and Industry (ACI) and the New Mexico-Israel Business Exchange (NMIBE) announced that registration is now open for local companies to join other business leaders , government officials, and entrepreneurs to explore Israel on a joint trade mission October 10-20, 2015. In addition to touring Israel’s cultural, historic, and religious sites, delegates will have the opportunity to engage with their international counterparts, open trade opportunities, and promote New Mexico business through a series of specially-tailored meetings organized by ACI, NMIBE, and the Israeli government.

"We created this trade mission to accommodate all levels of business interest in Israel," said Robert Efroymson, President of the NIMBE. "Whether you have very specific business objectives, or just want to experience the beautiful country and learn a little bit about the business climate, this trip is for you."

“ACI is proud to partner with NMIBE to offer this unique opportunity to New Mexico businesses,” said ACI President Jason Espinoza. “New Mexico businesses are at the cutting edge in so many key industries, and this is an opportunity to capitalize on that advantage. We’ve worked with officials in both the US and Israel to offer an impressive itinerary that could benefit practically any New Mexico business. This is all about a stronger economy and more international recognition and opportunities for New Mexico.”

The trip will coincide with the 2015 Water Technology & Environment Control (WATEC) Conference in Tel Aviv, providing additional opportunities for New Mexico entrepreneurs, researchers, and businesses. WATEC is an international symposium, featuring the world’s leaders in water management, as well as related industries such as oil & gas, food & beverage, manufacturing, agriculture, and more. Companies interested in attending WATEC may apply to receive booth space and business matchmaking sponsored by the New Mexico Office of International Trade. The New Mexico Pavilion at WATEC will showcase New Mexico industry and offer special opportunities for participating businesses. Companies who wish to participate in the WATEC portion of the mission must register by June 25.

The effort has already received enthusiastic support from top New Mexico business and government leaders. Lieutenant Governor John Sanchez praised the effort. “This is a great opportunity for New Mexico businesses to show themselves as the global leaders they are,” Sanchez said. “Israel is a close trading partner and shares significant economic ties with New Mexico, including focuses on aerospace, water, agriculture, and technology. I applaud ACI and NMIBE for organizing this trade mission, and I encourage New Mexico business leaders to attend. I am confident this will yield positive results for attendees and for New Mexico’s economy as a whole.”

Israel is New Mexico’s second largest international trading partner, with numerous and growing opportunities for New Mexico businesses. In addition to the economic advantages for attendees and for New Mexico, travelers will enjoy a variety of cultural, historic, and business experiences, visiting many of Israel's most important cities and attractions including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Galilee, and the Dead Sea. Participating companies can also take advantage of custom business meetings arranged through a partnership with the New Mexico Office of International Trade and the Israeli Commercial Mission.
