The New Mexico Attorney General on Thursday announced the release of a 2013 Behavioral Health Services Audit and said that his office is hoping to complete an investigation into the providers within six to eight months.
New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas on Thursday announced the release of a redacted version of a 2013 Behavioral Health Services Audit and also gave an update on a current investigation into the providers.
“Investigations into three of the providers have been completed. Investigations into four other additional providers are ongoing, and investigations into the remaining eight have yet to begin,” says Balderas.
The Attorney General also said that more fraud prevention is needed at the Executive level, along with increased collaboration between the state and federal authorities, and he added that more transparency is needed when going after waste, fraud, and abuse.
