Alameda Boulevard In Las Cruces To Reopen Friday

Following an eight-month-long total reconstruction, Alameda Boulevard between S. Main Street and Lohman Avenue will reopen to traffic at 8 a.m. Friday, August 30.

Intermittent lane diversions will be in effect to complete final installation of striping and raising of manhole concrete collars. One lane in each direction of travel will be maintained during operations and detours will no longer be needed to access businesses along Alameda.

The project consisted of replacing underground utilities, upgrading storm drainage, sidewalks, curb and gutter, street lights and new asphalt along the1,200-foot section.

In addition to the Alameda reconstruction, the total $1.8 million project includes the complete reconstruction of Miranda Street from Amador Avenue to El Molino Boulevard, and Compress Road from Amador to El Molino.
