KRWG News – ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (krwg) Alamogordo authorities say a band teacher has been arrested on suspicion of sexual contact with a female student.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Israel R. Trujillo says 30-year-old Daniel B. Hale was booked on two counts of fourth-degree felony criminal sexual contact of a minor girl and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Trujillo tells the Alamogordo Daily News detectives are still investigating.
The Alamogordo High School teacher was arrested Wednesday and is being held on a $150,000 bond in the Otero County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in Magistrate Court for a preliminary hearing March 16.
Alamogordo Public Schools spokesman Doyle Syling says Hale was placed on leave.
Police say they received a tip that led to their investigation of Hale.
