Albuquerque Company Wins Navy Contract

KRWG News – ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRWG) Honeywell International in Albuquerque has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy that's worth more than $8 million.

U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman announced the contract this week.

The New Mexico Democrat says the funding is in addition to a previously awarded contract for the development of 131 multipurpose displays for military aircraft.

Honeywell also was awarded a $1.34 million contract from the U.S. Army for upgrades and enhancements to the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior aircraft's control display system.

Bingaman says the contracts are evidence of the state's important role in national defense.

He also says the contracts will support good jobs in New Mexico.
