Albuquerque Man Accused Of Brass Fittings Thefts

A man has been arrested in Albuquerque for allegedly stealing more than $34,000 in brass fittings used to attach fire trucks to water supplies.

Albuquerque police say 30-year-old Joseph Ross was taken into custody Tuesday night.

They say Ross was wanted on two felony warrants for the theft.

Police say the thefts compromised public safety by impeding the fire department's ability to refill their water supply on the pumper trucks.

Police say Ross was interviewed by detectives and linked to additional property crimes.

They say the investigations into the other crimes remain under investigation.
