Albuquerque NAACP Files Complaint With NM Attorney General's Office

The NAACP has filed a complaint with the state Attorney General's Office.

KRQE-TV reports that the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says programs for youth enrichment and fitness has received very little funding from the state.

Harold Bailey, president of the Albuquerque NAACP, says all three branches of state government are guilty in denying local African Americans the basic right to enjoy the benefits of funding.

The move stems from recent actions during the 2013 legislative session.

The attorney general's office did not immediately respond to an email from The Associated Press.
