Albuquerque Native Releases Music Video Filmed in New Mexico

Country music singer-songwriter Alex Stern, an Albuquerque native, now based in Nashville passed a major milestone in her career last night with the public release of her first music video, “Runaways”.

The song and video, which chronicle a day of escape between two lovers who are enjoying one another and their freedom, was shot in Stern’s native New Mexico, in Tucumcari, two hours east of Albuquerque.

Filmed over the course of one weekend, Stern says, “We gave ourselves a weekend and everything came together so flawlessly. Working on the video reminded me why I do what I do and how alive I feel creating things I believe in.”

She says the song, from her 2016 EP Midnight Bandits, was an easy choice for the video, which is now available for download on iTunes and on Stern’s website at www.alexsternofficial.com.

Of making the video Stern says, “It was such a full circle and a life changing moment for me.   It was a great opportunity to celebrate my home state and show people what New Mexico is all about.”

Featuring Stern with longtime friend EJ, the cinematic video was shot by videographer Randy Shaffer, who captured the beauty of New Mexico through the setting sun, the rambling, open highway, and the quaint town and storefronts of Tucumcari.  The family owned-business of Tucumcari Ranch and Supply was showcased throughout.
