Albuquerque Police Identify Officers Involved In Latest Fatal Shooting

Albuquerque police have released the names of the two officers who shot and killed a knife-wielding man last week.

Police spokeswoman Tasia Martinez said Tuesday officers Ryan Graves and Brian Fuchs (FEWKS) are on administrative leave pending an investigation into the shooting death of a suspect tentatively identified Ralph Chavez.

Authorities say they are waiting for more information to positively identify Chavez.

She says neither officer has been involved in previous police shootings.

Authorities say Graves and Fuchs show and killed the suspect Thursday after he allegedly attacked a woman believed to be his girlfriend and then slashed the throat of a man who tried to help her.

Police say the man yelled at officers to shoot him and ignored officers' commands during a standoff.
