"Up All Night" Art Exhibition Friday

Graduating seniors in the art department at New Mexico State University will showcase their work in the fall 2012 BFA exhibition, "Up All Night," Friday, Dec. 14, at two separate locations. Graphic design students will present their work from 5-7 p.m. in the Corbett Student Union Art Gallery on the NMSU campus. Additionally, the work of two BFA students will be presented from 6-9 p.m. at the West End Art Depot, 401 N. Mesilla St., in Las Cruces. Both events are free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

"The exhibition is an important part of their education," said Peter Fine, assistant professor of art in the College of Arts and Sciences. "The students have to do a public exhibition, it's a key component of the BFA as a professional degree in art, so they are excited to have a couple of different venues."

The Corbett Center show features graphic design work in conjunction with photographic, drawing, craft, and digital design. Featured artists include Elizabeth Brown, Amanda Demock, Aaron Ewing, Eddie Nelson, Jessica Payne, Sarah Pedregon, Jesus Viezcas and Casey Webb.

Bachelors of fine arts students Ammie Ward and Stephanie Wagner will showcase their work together at the West End Art Depot. Their topics, "First Impressions" and "What Has Been," will include works in metalsmithing, printmaking, photography and video.
