Las Cruces—Ines O. Miller, 52, has been indicted for Manipulation of a Gaming Device with Intent to Cheat.

It is alleged that on Saturday, May 31, 2014 a Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino Manager reported to the NM Gaming Control that onsite surveillance cameras had recorded a woman engaging in suspicious activity surrounding a particular gaming device. A Casino Security Officer stated when he approached the woman he heard a loud clicking noise coming from the machine in play. Upon inspection the officer located a small magnet attached to the right side body of the machine which had already accrued 2 jackpot winning credits.

The Manipulation of a Gaming Device, a fourth degree felony, carries a maximum of 18 months imprisonment.

Miller is set to appear in district court before Judge Douglas R. Driggers on May 4, 2015 to plead to the charge.
