Amigo Airsho On Tap For November

Less than two months from now the skies over Santa Teresa will be filled with the aerial amazement of the 2014 Amigo Airsho.  The long-running event is scheduled for November 1-2 and the United States Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the entertainment as the Airsho debuts at the Santa Teresa Jetport in Dona Ana County.  The organization is working within an aggressive timeline to get Santa Teresa ready for this year, which will be its inaugural event in its new location.

“We are getting really excited.  All the groundwork is falling into place and we can’t wait to watch the show come to life in southern New Mexico,” said Roxie Samaniego, Amigo Airsho Board President.

This summer, Airsho officials moved their operational compound from Biggs Army Airfield at Fort Bliss to Santa Teresa.  They have also been busy ensuring key elements on the ground are in place.  The parking lot in Santa Teresa was approved by Dona Ana County and the resources have been secured for the plot of land that will become convenient parking spaces for patrons.  The parking lot will be attached to the Dona Ana County International Jetport in Santa Teresa.  In addition to the construction of the new parking lot, approval was also granted for repairs to be made to complete the existing taxiway at the airport.   These infrastructure projects should be complete within the next month.

“The accessible parking will most certainly make Airsho patrons love their experience at the new venue,” said Amigo Airsho CEO Pancho Mangan.  “We won’t need to use buses to get fans to the entrance gate.  It’ll be amazingly easy to walk up to the action.”

“Doña Ana County is delighted to partner with the Amigo Airsho to continue what has traditionally been one of the region’s foremost family entertainment opportunities,” said Doña Ana County Commission Chairman Billy G. Garrett.  “The Doña Ana County International Jetport at Santa Teresa is the premier air facility in southern New Mexico, and it will be a terrific venue for both the performers and the spectators in 2014 and for many more years to come.”

Online ticket and advanced walk-up tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations beginning mid-September.  Adult tickets are $20, child tickets (for ages 5-12) are $10 and kids age 4 and under are free.  To purchase tickets, visit www.ticketmaster.com and to sign up for 2014 Amigo Airsho updates, visitwww.amigoairsho.org.
