Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested In Las Cruces

A man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Mesilla over the weekend has been arrested by Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies took the initial report at the main station in Las Cruces just before 5 a.m. Saturday. The victim, who works at a Mesilla restaurant, told deputies he was approached by an unknown individual as he was walking to his car after work.

The victim said a man, traveling alone in a vehicle, pointed a gun at him and demanded he turn over his wallet. He was able to get the license plate number from the car, which was traced to a residence in the 900 block of Windsor in Las Cruces.

Miguel Murillo, 21, reportedly turned himself in at the main station after learning deputies wanted to speak with him.

Murillo was charged with armed robbery and booked at the Doña Ana County Detention Center where he posted a $7,500 secured bond Sunday night.
