Armed Robbery Suspect Sought by Las Cruces Police

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the man suspected of the May 10 armed robbery at a local Whataburger restaurant.

Shortly after midnight on Thursday, May 10, a young man walked into the Whataburger at 375 S. Telshor Blvd., approached an employee and indicated he was armed with a gun though no weapon was actually displayed. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the restaurant last seen heading east toward the Home Depot store.

The suspect is described as a white male, possibly in his late teens or 20s, with an unkept or scruffy face. He was wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and no shoes. A surveillance camera at the restaurant captured an image of the suspect with his shirt pulled over his head.

Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app. “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on most devices.

Those who provide tips through Crime Stoppers do not have to leave their own name and can remain completely anonymous.
