By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police have arrested two men believed to be responsible for at least four residential burglaries committed on Thursday.

Harley Ray Pena, 27, and Michael A. Hodgson, 22, are charged with four counts each of residential burglary and four counts each of conspiracy to commit residential burglary. Pena was also found to be in violation of his probation.

During the morning of Thursday, Sept. 29, Las Cruces Police responded to reports of residential burglaries on the 1100 block of Turkey Knob Dr., the 3800 block of Ascension Circle, the 4500 block of Big Sky Drive and the 4400 block of Maricopa Circle.

A witness to one of the burglaries gave police a description of the suspects and told officers that they were driving a maroon Pontiac Grand Am. A Las Cruces Police officer spotted a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop on Highway 70.

Pena was driving the vehicle and Hodgson was his passenger. The two were positively identified as the suspects who committed the burglaries.

Las Cruces Police are continuing their investigation and additional charges are possible.

Hodgson was incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $5,000 while Pena is being held without bond.
