Authorities: NM Teen Accused Of Killing Family Planned Mass Shooting

A 15-year-old boy accused of gunning down five family members over the weekend at their Albuquerque-area home has been ordered held without bond in adult court on charges of murder and child abuse resulting in death.

Authorities say Nehemiah Griego ambushed his father as he returned home from an overnight shift at a rescue mission, then reloaded his rifles and planned to go to a Wal-Mart and randomly shoot people. Instead, he went to a church where his father had been a pastor and eventually confessed to the killings.

Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston said the teen explained that he was "frustrated with his mother."

The sheriff's office identified the victims as 51-year-old Greg Griego, his wife, 40-year-old Sarah Griego, 9-year-old Zephania Griego, 5-year-old Jael Griego and 2-year-old Angelina Griego.
