Ballet presented by the University of Ciudad Juarez Coming To Las Cruces

  LAS CRUCES, NM - The Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez will be performing for the first time in Las Cruces on June 18th at the Rio Grande Theater located at 21 N Main St in downtown Las Cruces.

They will present "La Bayadère," a classical ballet set in Royal India and tells a story of eternal love, mystery, vengeance, and justice. Over 20 dancers will bring the story of Nikiya, a temple dancer and her two suitors, a noble warrior and the High Brahmin, to life.

"We are more than excited to share our form of art with New Mexico," said artistic Director Master Maru Becerra.

This year marks the 9th anniversary of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez ballet company. The company has performed classics such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Carmen, and La Fille Mal Gardee.

Tickets for this spectacular performance are only $12 and can be purchased at www.holdmyticket.com. Doors open at 6pm and the performance begins at 7pm.
