Northern New Mexico's Angel Fire Resort had a surprise visitor at its lodge this week when a bear found its way inside through a back door that was left open.
Resort officials say the bear wandered through the lobby and down the halls of the first and second floor for about 10 minutes late Monday. It was caught on surveillance cameras.
Police were dispatched, but the bear had already left the lodge through the same open door by the time they arrived.
Conservation officers with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish have responded to several reports of bear problems in the Angel Fire area this summer.
Department biologist Rick Winslow has said that bear nuisance calls this year are actually down from 2011, which marked a record year.
