Las Cruces – U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation will be releasing $617,500 to support transit services in Las Cruces.
The funds, which Bingaman worked to secure in 2009, will be used to begin the process of constructing a new bus maintenance facility.
"It is very important for a city the size of Las Cruces to have a well-maintained, well-run bus system," Bingaman said. "I am glad this funding will be used to support the RoadRUNNER Transit."
