BLM Dripping Springs Visitor Center Slated for Improvement Project

blm

Starting October 17, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Dripping Springs Visitor Center, located off Dripping Springs Road, will undergo work to widen and resurface all of the sidewalks near the parking lot, bathrooms, and Visitor Center entrance.  Working with BLM engineering staff, the contractors will be on site for two weeks to complete the work.  The Visitor Center will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday – Sunday) for most of the work, except for October 24-26, 2016.

For their safety, visitors are asked to be cautious and pay close attention to the open and closed sidewalks, particularly for handicapped visitor safety.  The BLM’s goal is to improve the facility infrastructure and enhance the visitor experience.

The Dripping Springs Natural Area hiking trails will not be affected by the improvement project.  Hikers will continue to pay their $5.00 per vehicle entry fee at the Visitor Center or at the La Cueva Recreational Area fee box, when the Visitor Center is closed.

For more information on the project’s schedule, please contact the Dripping Springs Visitor Center at 575-522-1219 or the BLM Las Cruces District Office at 575-525-4300.
