Border Economic Forum Next Week In El Paso

The University of Texas at El Paso Border Region Modeling Project and the El Paso Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas have partnered to sponsor a forum that will address the regional economic outlook for 2013.

The 8th Border Economic Forum will cover major issues affecting real estate, banking, health care, automobile sales, transportation infrastructure, municipal water consumption and regional economic development in the Borderplex.  Material presented will discuss national, regional, local and cross-border trends that are expected to impact business conditions in 2013.

Speakers at the forum include a diverse array of economists and business leaders with in-depth knowledge of the regional economy, including Ted Houghton with the Texas Transportation Commission and Roberto Coronado with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

The forum will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 at UTEP’s El Paso Natural Gas Conference Center, located across from the UTEP Library.  A continental breakfast and lunch buffet will be provided.  Tickets for the forum cost $30 per person.  To purchase tickets and for more information, contact Adam Walke at 915-747-7775 or agwalke@utep.edu.
