Border Patrol Nabs Sex Offenders

El Paso – Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Paso Sector arrested three convicted registered sex offenders over the weekend. One of the subjects, a United States Citizen, affected an illegal entry in order to evade authorities.

On Sunday, April 25, 2010, Border Patrol Agents assigned to the El Paso Station and utilizing the Remote Video Surveillance System, observed a subject jumping the Rio Grande River fence near the Stanton Bridge. Agents responded to the area and were able to apprehend the subject, later identified as 28-year old Isaac Ruiz from San Jose, California.

Ruiz was immediately transported to a processing center, where his biometric and biographical information were entered into the E3/IAFIS systems. The aforementioned systems revealed a criminal history, a felony warrant (Felony Burglary), a misdemeanor warrant (Theft/Property under 400) and a sex-offender registry for the subject. Ruiz was turned over to the El Paso Police Department for extradition to California.

On Sunday, Agents assigned to the Santa Teresa, NM Border Patrol Station arrested two subjects who are also registered sex-offenders. Agents working near Sunland Park observed 24-year old Casimiro Bautista-Moreno from Mexico, enter the United States illegally. The agents transported the subject to the Santa Teresa Station and record checks revealed a previous removal from the United States and a registry as a sex-offender. The subject was processed for prosecution and removal.

Also on Sunday, agents working near Santa Teresa, NM arrested 43-year old Noe Arenivas-Pe a, after entering the U.S. illegally. The subject was later processed and records revealed a previous removal from the United States and a conviction for Criminal Sexual Penetration of a Minor and Kidnapping. The subject is being processed for prosecution and removal.
