Border Security Expo To Open In Downtown Phoenix

The 8th annual Border Security Expo is set to open in Phoenix with keynote speeches from the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The expo runs Tuesday and Wednesday at the Phoenix Convention Center.

The event also includes speeches from the deputy director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the chief of U.S. Border Patrol.

Along with panel discussions about port of entry operations and sharing intelligence, the expo will feature exhibitors displaying high-tech wares aimed at securing lucrative government contracts and private sales.

The event's organizers say its aim is to bring law enforcement and policymakers together with industry leaders to discuss the latest technological advances and share ideas about border security.
