A 14-year-old boy is facing charges after police say he stabbed his mom when she told him to stop playing PlayStation video games and clean his room.
The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that the boy was arrested Sunday and faces a number of charges, including aggravated battery against a household member with a deadly weapon. Police said he stabbed his mother in the leg and threatened his younger siblings.
The mother told police that her son is bipolar and had broken all the windows of her 2005 blue Dodge Durango, where she and her four young children had sought safety.
Police said the mother was transported to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center for treatment.
It was unclear if the boy had an attorney.
