A California man has pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of pipe bombs after several were found in his car at a New Mexico border inspection.
Prosecutors say 28-year-old Lloyd Jonathon Fry entered his plea Thursday in a federal court in Las Cruces.
Fry, of Hollywood, was relocating to Ohio when he was arrested May 27 at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint west of Alamogordo.
Agents say they found four pipe bombs, a loaded pistol with a 30-round magazine and about four pounds of marijuana in his vehicle and small trailer.
In court, Fry admitted that the pipe bombs weren't registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.
Prosecutors say Fry faces up to 10 years in prison when he's sentenced. His sentencing hearing hasn't been scheduled yet.
