Career Art Path Program Returning To Las Cruces

For over 20 years, middle school students who love to draw, paint and doodle have found inspiration, kindred spirits and a chance to explore arts-oriented careers at CAP – Career Art Path.

The Doña Ana Arts Council’s Career Art Path is a two-week immersion program in the visual arts for students entering the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  The program will be held June 13-24, 2016 (M - F from 8:30 AM-- 2:00 PM) at Alma d’Arte Charter High School, 402 W Court Avenue, Las Cruces, NM.

The program includes hands on workshops in many fields of art such as painting, sculpture and print making with guest speakers from art professionals.  The students also take field trips to local galleries, museums and businesses for exploration of the many career avenues available in the arts.  The program culminates with an art show featuring the students’ art work.

Registration is limited to 40 students.  The deadline for enrollment is May 20, 2016 and parents should be aware an Art Teacher recommendation is a required part of the application.

The fee is $100 per student for the 2 week camp.  Payment is due with the completed application.  Partial scholarships are available on a needs basis.
