Carlsbad Caverns National Park to Offer Free Admission for 10 Days in 2017

  Carlsbad, NM - There are 10 more reasons to enjoy Carlsbad Caverns National Park in 2017! The park will offer free admission for 10 days in 2017. The free days are:

 

·         January 16 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

·         February 20  - Presidents Day 

·         April 15-16 & April 22-23 - National Park Week Weekends

·         August 25 - National Park Service Birthday

·         September 30  - National Public Lands Day

·         November 11-12 - Veterans Day Weekend

“We are very excited to offer 10 fee free days in 2017,” said Doug Neighbor, Superintendent of Carlsbad Caverns National Park. “We had a great Centennial year and are looking forward to sharing the park in the 101st year of the National Park Service.”

Usually, Carlsbad Caverns National Park has an entrance fee of $10 per person (16 and older).  Additional fees will be required for ranger-led tours into Slaughter Canyon, Lower and Spider Caves, Left Hand Tunnel and Hall of the White Giant.

Last year, Carlsbad Caverns National Park had more than 445,000 visitors who spent $28.1 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 419 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $31 million.
