Anthony, NM – DASO Investigators are currently conducting an on-going investigation resulting from a child, five years old, being transported to Providence Hospital, El Paso, on Sunday, June 20, with "multiple injuries and unconscious."
According to Sheriff's Investigator Mark Sanchez, Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to Providence Hospital at approximately 2:11 p.m. Sunday.
As a result of the on-going investigation, Sheriff's Investigators arrested and charged the child's mother, JESSICA BARRON, age 27, of 25 Par Two Lane, Anthony, with one first degree count of Child Abuse - Intentional (Resulting in Death or Great Bodily Harm) and one third degree count of Tampering with Evidence.
The child is listed as in "critical" condition at Providence Hospital, El Paso.
