City of Las Cruces and NMSU Partner for Free 4th of July Celebration

The City of Las Cruces and New Mexico State University (NMSU) will once again be teaming up to host the City’s free annual 4th of July Celebration.  Here is the information provided by the city:

This year, the much-anticipated event is being held at the Pat and Lou Sisbarro Community Park, 3205 Arrowhead Dr. on the NMSU campus. Legendary artistDennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx will be headlining this year’s concert with special guestsJefferson Starship opening the show. The annual Fireworks Display will begin immediately following the concert.

The Pat and Lou Sisbarro Community Park on the NMSU campus provides easy access, better traffic flow, expanded parking, and can better accommodate the large audience that attends this free, family-friendly community event.

July 3    

7:30 p.m.       Electric 5K & One-mile Fun Run

Race starts at Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave.

9:00 p.m.      The Electric Light Parade

Solano Avenue (Begins at Apodaca Park, 801 E. Madrid Ave., south on Solano Ave., east on Hadley Ave., and ends at Maag Softball Complex.)

July 4

The 2018 Fourth of July Celebration

6:00 p.m.         JEFFERSON STARSHIP (Classic Rock)

8:00 p.m.         DENNIS DEYOUNG AND THE MUSIC OF STYX (Classic Rock)

9:45 p.m.         Annual Fireworks Display

Gates open at 4 p.m. Food vendors will be on site.  No grilling, personal fireworks, alcohol, RV’s or overnight parking will be allowed.
