Las Cruces, NM – The event will provide an opportunity for residents to share ideas for the area during walking tours.
The event also includes mapping and visualization exercises, photo collections, storytelling and presentations.
The City of Las Cruces is working with experts from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in an effort to increase public involvement in planning projects.
Las Cruces is one of only four cities to receive this "Smart Growth Implementation Technical Assistance," which provides staff with expertise from these federal agencies to help create a vision for El Paseo Road that reflects community needs and desires.
There will be two tours on Thursday, three on Friday and one on Saturday. The event will also be open to the public without tours most of the day. For more information on the schedule and tour times visit las-cruces.org or call 528-3209.
