Coffeen Joins NMSU

  The New Mexico State University College of Education has selected Las Crucen Kelley Coffeen as its new assistant dean for advancement. Coffeen started her new position June 2.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Kelley Coffeen to the College of Education to lead our advancement efforts,” said Dean Michael Morehead. “Ms. Coffeen has an extensive background in the business sector and is very knowledgeable of our college and the community. We are looking forward, under her leadership, to improving our advancement work and interactions with alumni and donors.”

Coffeen has a vast and varied background in business and has been involved in numerous fundraising activities throughout her career. She is a cookbook author and has been a food consultant and restaurateur. She also has worked in real estate as well as sales and marketing for a variety of industries. 

“NMSU has impacted me in so many ways as a citizen of Las Cruces and New Mexico,” Coffeen said. “I am looking forward to building relationships for the College of Education. I want to let people know about all of the important opportunities the college offers.”

Coffeen said she likes to bring people together for a common cause. 

“I love collaborating and there are so many opportunities to collaborate for the benefit of NMSU students who are working to forge successful careers,” she said. 

Coffeen and her family have supported the College of Education for many years, including developing an endowed scholarship in the college. She also is pursing a doctorate in the College of Education’s Educational Leadership program and has a master’s from NMSU in consumer and environmental sciences. She also has a bachelor’s in family and consumer sciences from Northern Arizona University.
