Collectible K9 Toys To Benefit Law Enforcement Torch Run

Dona Ana County Sheriff

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department is offering six varieties of plush K9 toys for sale, with all proceeds to benefit the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics.

Each dog stands approximately nine inches tall, features the DASO badge of office and represents a different popular K9 breed: a bloodhound, a Belgian Malinois, a German shepherd, a yellow Labrador, a chocolate Labrador and a black Labrador. The Belgian Malinois was the first collectible K9 toy, introduced in 2014.

The toys are each available for a $15 donation and can be picked up at the DASO main headquarters, 845 N. Motel Boulevard in Las Cruces during regular business hours.

The sheriff’s department has been a longtime active participant in LETR activities, including the Torch Run that passed through Las Cruces in May, heralding the start of the Special Olympics Summer Games in Albuquerque.

LETR fundraisers help to send New Mexico Special Olympics athletes to athletic events and to training conferences around the world.
