Columbus Man Faces Child Porn Charges

A Columbus man is facing charges that he exploited three young children to produce pornographic images.

Federal prosecutors say 30-year-old Samuel Elliott pleaded not guilty Tuesday during his arraignment in court in Albuquerque to eight counts related to child pornography.

A judge ordered Elliott detained pending trial. A trial date has not been set.

According to the indictment, Elliott lured the children into engaging in sexually explicit conduct between December 2012 and July of this year in Luna County. He allegedly used a child between ages 1 and 5 as well as a child above 5 years old.

If convicted, Elliott could serve up to 30 years on each child pornography charge and be required to register as a sex offender.
