ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — An embattled Bernalillo county commissioner, under fire for a controversy over photos of him in Philippines red-light district, has been publicly censured.
Michael Wiener was censured Wednesday by a 3-0 vote following harsh criticism from fellow commissioners.
Calls for the Republican's resignation have grown since the Albuquerque Journal published the photos showing him posing with young women in a Philippine city known for prostitution.
Wiener read a statement and said he didn't do anything wrong. However, he apologized to his family.
He acknowledges that he may have exercised poor judgment while on vacation.
