Community Planning Meetings Scheduled

The Doña Ana County Community Development Department, in conjunction with The Camino Real Consortium, is asking for public feedback from Doña Ana County residents during two days of workshops on future community planning.

The efforts are part of the Viva Doña Ana initiative, a regional project that focuses on the people, places and prosperity of Doña Ana County. The initiative ultimately will work to provide strategies, actions and tools to improve the quality of life for all county residents.

More than 90 miles of the El Camino Real Scenic Byway runs through Doña Ana County, which is the longest and oldest scenic byway in New Mexico. The workshops will discuss several ideas and potential projects that are designed to enhance the historical, cultural and economic opportunities along the El Camino Real Corridor, which is within five miles of 33 Doña Ana County communities.
