County Begins Program To Encourage Recycling

The Doña Ana County Sheriff Codes Enforcement Department, in partnership with Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful, will participate in America Recycles Day on Nov. 15 to recruit active recyclers in the county through an online pledge and an opportunity to win valuable prizes.

The pledge drive is an opportunity to learn, act and share information on recycling. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. in the rotunda of the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Boulevard.

County residents, as well as Doña Ana County employees, are encouraged to stop by to take the online pledge. Those who take the pledge are then entered into a drawing for a chance to win several prizes, including a tailgate grilling package worth about $150.

America Recycles Day is a national initiative by Keep America Beautiful and is the only nationally-recognized day and community-driven awareness event dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. Since 1997, communities across the country have participated in America Recycles Day on Nov. 15 to promote recycling awareness, commitment and action.
