Doña Ana County Sheriff Enrique “Kiki” Vigil is cooperating with an internal investigation that resulted in a move to place Undersheriff Ken Roberts on paid administrative leave.
Per Doña Ana County policy, the sheriff – or any other county employee – is prohibited from commenting on personnel matters, but confirms the action was taken.
“Our department has maintained the public’s safety, trust, and well-being in Doña Ana County for more than a century,” said Vigil. “It is a testament to strong leadership that there have been no interruptions of that duty as a result of this action. I believe in the investigative process, and trust that this matter will be brought to a swift resolution as quickly as possible.”
