Couple Wanted In Las Cruces Copper Thefts

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrests of a man and woman who took copper from the Burlington Northern rail yard on at least two occasions since May 6.

At around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, May 6, and at around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, two people - a man and woman - were seen stealing copper from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail yard at 3110 S. Main St. The suspects were observed loading the stolen copper into a light-colored automobile.

The vehicle the couple was seen driving appears to be a 2-door, possibly a light-colored Hyundai, Honda or similar-type car.
