Court Document Says Man Told Wife About Murder

Federal court records reveal that an Albuquerque man allegedly told his wife that he had killed another woman, dismembered her and hid the corpse.

The details are included in a forfeiture action filed in U.S. District Court against Christopher Blattner. He has not been charged in the death of Kathy Paquin, who officially remains a missing person.

U.S. Secret Service learned last August that Blattner and his wife had fraudulently withdrawn some $63,000 from Paquin's bank account by using her ATM card.

Blattner was arrested last August on unrelated charges following a nine-hour standoff at his home during which he fired at officers. Aside from violating probation stemming from drug convictions, he was wanted in connection with the 2007 slaying of a man whose body was found near Route 66 Casino.
