Court Documents Shed Light On Texas DA Killings

A court document is among the windows into the alleged motive for the slayings of two Texas prosecutors.

The document details an interview Kaufman County ex-Justice of the Peace Eric Williams gave a probation officer after he was convicted last year of stealing three county computer monitors.

Williams said in the presentence investigation report that his life had taken a "drastic turn" and the conviction would amount to a "life sentence." Williams lost his law license and JP position.

Authorities say this case prompted Williams to take revenge on the prosecutors who pushed for the punishment. Williams and his wife were indicted last month for the shooting deaths of the county's district attorney, his wife and an assistant prosecutor.

Both remain jailed pending trial. Their court-appointed attorneys have declined comment.
