By KRWG News

Las Cruces, NM – Two Las Cruces residents were arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into a city building looking for a junk food fix.

According to Las Cruces Police officials, Jose Mejia Jr., 20, and his cousin, Mark Ramirez, 16, broke a window and snuck into the Benavidez Community Center early in the morning.

Police officers quickly responded and foiled their plan which the cousins' told detectives was to take chips and soda from the center's vending machines.

Because of their early morning craving, Mejia and Ramirez were taken to the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10, 000 each.
