David Benoit Coming To Las Cruces

The Doña Ana Arts Council proudly continues its 2014/2015 Performance Series with Grammy-nominated jazz pianist, composer and producer David Benoit, who will celebrate the holidays with the iconic jazz from Charles Schultz’ Peanuts specials. Revive that wonderful Christmas feeling with Vince Guaraldi’s perennial Peanuts tunes, featuring classics like “Linus and Lucy” and “Christmas Time Is Here,” while the beloved animated classic is projected on the theatre screen. David Benoit will tickle the ivories at the Rio Grande Theatre, Friday, December 19, 2014.

According to Smooth Jazz New York, over the last quarter century, composer and pianist David Benoit has been a passionate musical innovator committed to the exploration of many different art forms on the American landscape. His prolific output since 2000 includes several prominent Charlie Brown related projects (including Here’s To You, Charlie Brown: 50 Great Years and the star-studded 40 Years: A Charlie Brown Christmas) that reflect his lifelong passion for the music of original Peanuts composer Vince Guaraldi and solidify Benoit’s role as his musical heir.

The Rio Grande Theatre is located at 211 N. Main Street, in Las Cruces. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $45.50 or $34 (including all fees) and may be purchased via the website at www.RioGrandeTheatre.com, or at the Rio Grande Theatre box office, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information visit the website or call (575) 523-6403.
