Deming – Deming High School students will build an addition to the district's school for developmentally disabled children, My Little School.
The project will add four classrooms and two restrooms.
The high school's building trades teacher, George Wertz, estimates the work will take at least a full school year.
He says the project will begin toward the end of this school year.
Wertz says a small group of students will work through the summer, then the project will continue next school year with about 45 students involved.
Students in the 2003-2004 building trades class added a classroom to My Little School.
In the past decade, students have added to the district's tech building, remodeled school offices and expanded the building trades shop. They also built five houses, which the district sold.
